Scottish Farmhouse Accommodation in Beautiful Moray

A warm welcome awaits you with
SCOTTISH CUISINE and HIGHLAND HOSPITALITY

PROPRIETORS; SCOTT and SHEILA MASSON

Our family farm is in the heart of Moray. We assure guests of the highest standard of hospitality to which previous clientele regularly return. Our 180 acre farm is mixed arable, with indoor and outdoor pigs, cattle and sheep.Guests are welcome to wander round the farm if they wish. Our comfortable farmhouse has a large conservatory and guest lounge where delicious home baking is served. Delicious breakfasts are served by Sheila, a qualified cook. Moray is renowned as the riviera of the north and is an excellent base for golf, fishing, whisky trails, beaches, castles and numerous attractions.

We are the third generation of Massons to farm here since 1911. We can trace the ancestry back to the early 1600s to a Kitty Alves! The photographs of previous generations hang on the top landing wall. The farmhouse, we are told by Historians was once Gateside Inn and the horses and carriages had to pay a toll at the TOLL HOUSE (next to the cottages) to go through the land. That was before the Kings road was laid, (now the A96!).

The house itself is between 240-250 years old. There is a cellar of sorts under the oldest part of the house. The flooring is made of halved trees! Quite a contrast to the modern hardboard flooring. The more recent extensions and some of the farm buildings are about 120 years old.
